Job summary

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as an Entry-Level Data Inventory Consultant. The primary responsibility of this position is to review, read and interpret engineering diagrams and/or maps to conduct accurate and detailed inventory of outside fibre plant records into facilities and assignment databases. We are looking for a candidate who possesses exceptional analytical skills, keen attention to detail in order to analyze and organize basic plant data, and is comfortable working with engineering diagrams and maps.  This candidate should be an independent worker who is capable of working remotely since the job offers the option to work partial work from home.

 

Specific Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Reads, interprets and understands facilities based on engineering diagrams or maps
  • Performs accurate and detailed inventory of outside fibre plant records into a facilities and assignment database.
  • Accurately document fibre details on exiting fibre assets and take all necessary steps to ensure the data integrity of the fibre network is maintained.
  • Investigates discrepancies between database records and permanent plant location records and makes required modifications.
  • Build, correct, maintain and update records in inventory database. Review “as built” construction plans received after work order completion and make necessary corrections to the database.
  • Delivers technical assistance and support to various departments.
  • Manage a tracking sheet to provide facilities with a background of all jobs.
  • Manage a support group mailbox.

 

Qualifications

  • Level 30 Math or post-secondary schooling in a technical field would be an asset.
  • SQL Query Writing (basic) would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of Access Network plans, symbols, and design procedures would be an asset
  • Knowledge of computers and various software applications would be an asset.
  • Telecommunications Experience would be an asset.
  • Keyboarding skills 20 wpm.
