GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY
Manages the long and short-term space planning for the Holdco, ensuring that SaskTel s facilities are developed and maintained to meet current and future needs. Leads the planning, management, and execution of facility-related projects, as well as coordinates with various departments and subsidiaries to align space planning with corporate priorities. Also responsible for the meticulous design, scheduling, coordination, and implementation of all SaskTel building projects. This includes overseeing architectural and structural developments, interior layout planning, and the integration of electrical and mechanical systems, to support the functionality and strategic goals of SaskTel s infrastructure.


SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Responsible for the architectural and structural development of projects to ensure they meet SaskTel s standards and strategic goals.
  2. Responsible for planning the interior layout of facilities to optimize space utilization and functionality.
  3. Coordinates with electrical and mechanical engineers to ensure seamless integration and support for SaskTel s infrastructure.
  4. Schedules and tracks project timelines to ensure all building projects are completed on time and within budget.
  5. Implements building projects from inception to completion, ensuring all aspects meet the predefined specifications and quality standards.
  6. Liaises with architects, consultants, and contractors to maintain design standards and ensure public safety during construction.
  7. Monitors project status and takes corrective action as necessary to meet in-service commitments and ensure sound financial control.
  8. Develops and maintains a comprehensive understanding of SaskTel's business direction, analyzing future requirements and formulating strategic plans to ensure that facilities align with business needs while minimizing expenses and optimizing real estate asset utilization.
  9. Leads the space allocation planning and implementation process, building professional relationships with stakeholders and collaborating with business areas to identify trends or future space needs, offering recommendations.
  10. Responsible for the development, evolution, and maintenance of space standards, assigning space according to corporate standards to maximize efficient use of space and productivity.
  11. Accountable for leading, facilitating, and coordinating teams across divisions to identify and resolve space/facilities-related requirements, ensuring the timely implementation of capital and expense projects.
  12. Maintains industry knowledge, applying best practices to reduce operating costs, optimize space, and increase workplace productivity.
  13. Prepares proposals and Executive Items, reviewing, coordinating, and compiling data and cost estimates into presentations for approval and fund appropriation.
  14. Supports human resource activities, recruiting, retaining, developing, and motivating staff as required to meet organizational goals.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor s degree in Business Administration, facilities management, engineering or related field; OR four years of facilities space and/or project management or directly related experience; OR any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
  2. Leadership skills to oversee a team and coordinate complex building projects from design to implementation.
  3. Technical knowledge and experience in building design, construction, including familiarity with architectural, structural, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  4. Strong interpersonal skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work with and communicate effectively with others, including all levels of management.
  5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to prepare reports and presentations.
  6. Broad, conceptual and strategic thinking skills.
  7. Strong planning, organization, analytical and research skills.
  8. A strong team leader and team member able to direct, select, develop staff and influence the performance of others.

  • Accountable for proactively identifying, inspiring, and acting on opportunities to innovate and drive process improvements, develop growth initiatives, and improve revenue and/or reduce costs. Driving valuable customer experiences and employee engagement, improving sustainability, and demonstrates commitment to the communities that we serve. 

 

This is an on-site position located at the location(s) above. The successful candidate must be located within the province of Saskatchewan. Out of province/country candidates must be willing to relocate. Flexible work opportunities, in province, may be available.
