GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY
Accountable to provide leadership and consulting for SaskTel’s Professional Services practice, overseeing revenue generation, cost control, utilization, and profitability. Leads a multi-functional team dedicated to provide professional technical and business consulting services to our customers.  Contributes to SaskTel’s present and future success by providing business development leadership for key customer and partnership growth and strategic relations. Accountable for pursuing and directing the corporate assessment of customer/partner opportunities, as well as the implementation of pursuit strategies to determine whether to proceed with further analysis or to discontinue the assessment. Leads negotiations with senior executives of prospective customer/partners, gaining required approvals with customer and internal communication with SaskTel executive.  Responsible to customer for the implementing and periodically overseeing on-going management of initiatives.  Initiatives may involve third party relationships in the form of partnerships, joint ventures, or equity investments.

 

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Manages ongoing Professional Services portfolio development including customer/partner forecasting, determining marketing strategies, sales channel selection and target market selection. Ensures an aggressive, competitive, customer-oriented portfolio is developed by keeping abreast of and analyzing all current market and competitive information.
2. Develops a highly competitive, proactive team dedicated to assisting SaskTel’s customers in the design and delivery of innovative business products and communications solutions, with a strong focus on our strategic business goals.
3. Accountable for overall customer satisfaction and profitability for customer professional services engagements.
4. Accountable to ensure SaskTel is equipped to succeed in the sales and delivery of business solutions to customers and in meeting strategic revenue targets.
5. Accountable and responsible for the business development of customer/partner diversification initiatives that are generated by personal self-initiative or determined by the Professional Services team to be strategically important to the Corporation.  This involves assembling and managing a cross departmental expert team from initial scoping of opportunity through a detailed due diligence process, developing appropriate business inputs, negotiating legal agreements, leading business case development & analysis and receiving required related approvals. The incumbent’s analysis and final recommendation whether to proceed with the initiative or to terminate assessment will have a high degree of influence on the final decision.
6. Implementation accountabilities include representation of customers/partners by participating in the process by which an initiative is commercially launched to the market or a specific customer or partner. Involves negotiating third party business relationships, including on-going customer or partner management. The success of each opportunity is directly impacted by the incumbent’s business approach to the opportunity.
7. Contributes to increased revenues and new business opportunities for SaskTel by providing expert consultative services.
8. Provides hands-on leadership, direction and coaching to an entrepreneurial staff and actively participates as a partner in achieving the team's objectives.  Assists in staff career pathing and development.
9. Maximizes financial contribution to SaskTel through revenue growth, revenue protection and focus on profitable delivery of services. Develops and manages the team Business Plan, Resource, Operating and Capital budgets.  Ongoing review of opportunities to maximize productivity and performance.
10. Accountable to minimize and mitigate exposure and impact to business-critical processes through the effective implementation of Business Continuity Plans and in accordance with responsibilities outlined in the Corporate BCM Policy, the Emergency Operations Procedures and the emergency Alert Procedures.

 

QUALIFICATIONS
1. University degree in Engineering/Administration/ Commerce OR equivalent combination of education and business experience. Strong knowledge and experience of business related competencies.
2. Highly-developed interpersonal skills.  Strong communications skills with customers, employees, peers and superiors is essential.
3. Comfortable dealing at higher levels within customer organizations.
4. Demonstrated aptitude for, and a strong understanding, of IT and customer facing technologies.
5. Enthusiastically embraces new concepts and opportunities and a demonstrated ability to manage within a rapidly-changing environment.
6. A bias towards empowering employees, continuous process improvement and always focusing on customer needs and expectations.
7. Must practice and display a high level of commitment to the support and development of employees.
8. Must demonstrate an active community presence and involvement which directly and indirectly promotes SaskTel's image, products and

  • Accountable for proactively identifying, inspiring, and acting on opportunities to innovate and drive process improvements, develop growth initiatives, and improve revenue and/or reduce costs. Driving valuable customer experiences and employee engagement, improving sustainability, and demonstrates commitment to the communities that we serve.
