Manager - Consumer Sales (SaskTel Store)

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY
Accountable for the promotion, sale, delivery and repair of all SaskTel products and services to all customers, focusing on all the large/med/small Business and Consumer markets.  Accountable for Store inventory, profitability, unit and revenue targets. Responsible for maximizing sales opportunities, market share, customer satisfaction, controlling costs and providing distinctive, exceptional Service Excellence on a continual basis. Responsible for establishing and developing customer relationships in a highly competitive environment.  Responsible to maintain long term, stable, profitable, and mutually beneficial partnerships with internal departments and external customers.

 

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES
General
1.    Accountable for maximizing the sales promotion and profits of the Retail Store through cost efficient operation and human resource management.
2    Accountable for effectively handling all customer concerns and inquiries regarding all SaskTel departments and services.
3     Accountable for the high volume, safe collection, transfer and deposit of corporate monies handled through the customer services operations by adherence to SaskTel security procedures.
4.    Ensure the operational needs of the full service Retail Store are met by selecting, developing, motivating, mentoring and coaching a highly effective sales team.
5.    Provide customers with Service Excellence by ensuring Sales Representatives have the appropriate tools and training to exceed customer expectations.
6.    Partner with SaskTel Marketing, Business Sales, External Channel Management, Customer Relationship Centre, and other groups to increase profitability and effectiveness of SaskTel in the face to face retail selling and services of its products and services.
7.    Ensures that leadership, teamwork and full cooperation is given to all SaskTel departments in striving to give the best products and service to our customers in the competitive communication environment.
8.    Partner with Marketing, Business Sales, External Channel Management and Community Relations to coordinate and manage provincial tradeshows and on customer site special events.
9.    Responsible for the management of rental and retail inventories through SaskTel's SAP system and Retail Point of Sale systems.
10. Leads, directs and manages staff to ensure the effective use of HR resources. Maximizes performance by selecting (hire external or promote from within), developing, mentoring and sustaining a high level of expertise among staff. Organize and direct work including prioritizing assignments, establishing objectives, providing regular performance feedback, conducting year end performance appraisals and taking necessary corrective action as may be required. Assists in staff career planning, establishes development and succession plans and ensures relevant HR procedures and policies are followed (provisions of the collective agreement, performance appraisals, discipline, grievance, etc). Accountable for provisioning and managing contracted resources as may be required.
11.    Accountable for promoting a productive and positive environment for staff that encourages innovation, teamwork, initiative and models corporate values. Motivates staff by assigning challenging work, planning and managing internal communications and awareness of corporate direction, mission, plans and activities.
Business
1.    Direct and support business customers while generating new revenues for all lines of SaskTel business sold through the Store to ensure profitability of SaskTel.
2.    Negotiate and influence both internal departments and external partners to leverage the skills, expertise, and reach of the Stores to drive profitability at SaskTel.
3.    Develop and update Store strategies and initiatives and provide inputs into the strategic, business, and marketing plans.
4.    Develop and enable Store programs including forecasts, sales quotas, customer satisfaction measurements, advertising, and training.
5.    Develop and employ appropriate competitive retail strategies, continually re-evaluating to determine appropriateness for the situation and to align with sales, market, and customer service imperatives.
6.    Provide perspective to SaskTel Information Technology department regarding multiple SaskTel systems such as: Point of Sale, Simon, eASI, Aurora, Partner Portal, SAP and more.
Customer
1.    Establish relationships with customers to ensure SaskTel solutions are marketed professionally and sales targets are achieved.
2.    Responsible to understand and influence retail channels’ strategies through meetings, presentations, and channel education/training to ensure alignment with SaskTel’s position for our solutions to maximize competitive advantage.
3.    Actively participate in joint business and strategic planning with internal departments to share short and long term goals and objectives to identify opportunities and ensure consistency in focus and alignment with SaskTel’s strategic initiatives.
4.    Responsible for developing and negotiating channel contracts to ensure adequate channel representation of our services both in and out of province to deliver on our strategic imperatives.
5.    Responsible to develop the retail channel with the professional skills and abilities necessary to deploy and support current and future SaskTel solutions to successfully market them to customers and represent SaskTel.

 

QUALIFICATIONS
1.    Must hold a Bachelor degree in Business, Marketing, Administration, Commerce or equivalent or have a minimum of 5 to 7 years of sales, retail, marketing, or customer service in a related competitive business environment.
2.    Possess thorough knowledge of and have considerable experience in sales, marketing, project management and relationship management.
3.    Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, positive attitude and professional appearance.
4.    Demonstrated ability to apply techniques needed to persuasively promote sales of policies, programs, and products and services.
5.    Must demonstrate and promote a high level of confidentiality.
6.    Must practice and display a high level of commitment to the support and development of employees.
7.    Must be willing to travel provincially on short notice and work seven days a week in a face to face customer demanding work environment.
8.    Must have the ability to make decisions and to demonstrate initiative required.
9.    Demonstrate the ability to direct and develop staff, plan, coordinate and control the resources needed for an effective operation.
10.    Possess personal computer skills.
