As Marketing Manager - Enterprise WAN, you will play a pivotal role in defining the future of SaskTel's enterprise networking portfolio. From shaping product strategy and launching innovative solutions to driving market adoption and customer value, you'll combine technical expertise with business leadership to deliver services that help organizations connect, grow, and succeed. GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY

Accountable for providing technical and business leadership for all aspects of the business product lifecycle management, roadmap governance, service development, and go-to-market execution. This role leads a team of professionals dedicated to translating the corporate vision into scalable, secure, and commercially viable services by driving requirements engineering, aligning solutions with network and IT architecture, enabling sales through technical expertise, and managing partner and channel ecosystems to ensure industry leading services.

 

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Accountable for providing business and technical leadership for all aspects of business product lifecycle including new service opportunity identification, service development, product management, take to-market direction, sales support, roadmap and portfolio management, and partner and channel management.
  2. Maintains expertise in emerging technologies and customer opportunities and guides SaskTel and its customers in adapting business products and services to address evolving technologies and market needs.
  3. Works with customers to learn and explore new opportunities for service development, including setting up experiments, prototypes, or trials to determine viability.  This includes developing expertise in strategic industries, the technology sector that supports these industries and representing SaskTel at industry events.
  4. Accountable for product portfolio performance, which includes revenue, subscribers, profitability, expense management, inventory management, budgeting and forecasting.
  5. Responsible for defining and communicating the business services value proposition—spanning target markets, competitive positioning, performance metrics, and branding—and producing product/pricing data and technical enablement materials that equip sales and operations to deliver value‑aligned messaging and quantify cost–benefit through feature analysis, competitive benchmarking, and ROI modeling.
  6. Accountable for the long-term health and regeneration of product portfolios through new product/service development and product enhancements. Ensures new products, enhancements and businesses are set up to win in the market in the short term and the long term. In early stages of the product lifecycle, is actively involved in necessary aspects of SFAB (sales, fulfilment, assurance, and billing) to facilitate both speed to market, and to capture learnings to develop more accurate requirements for full Launch Management when the product is ready to scale.
  7. Ensures disciplined application of Launch Management best practices to engineer, validate, and deploy new products and services while minimizing operational risk and mitigating business impact.
  8. Negotiates, establishes and maximizes third party relationships that deliver advantageous results and protect SaskTel’s best interests.
  9. Ensures that SaskTel products and pricing are positioned competitively through proactive monitoring and research of the marketplace and competitors.  Spearheads timely tactics to counter competitive threats.
  10. Defines the ideal customer experience that drives highest customer satisfaction and streamlines workflow and processes to improve the customer experience.
  11. Ensures products adhere to applicable policies, practices, regulations, and privacy requirements while aligning with current industry trends, technology changes and market conditions.
  12. Accountable for business case development (strategic, financial, operational, customer implications, partnership and new growth objectives) of opportunities on a case-by-case basis.
  13. Provides leadership, direction and coaching to inspire, motivate and enable a positive and productive work environment for direct reports and cross-functional teams.
  14. Drives market awareness of SaskTel’s business solutions through targeted customer events, technical enablement sessions, and direct engagement that demonstrate product value, accelerate adoption, and support discovery throughout the customer lifecycle.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor’s Degree OR Technical Designation AND 6 years technical experience in a related field. A combination of related technical experience and education will be considered.
  2. Technical Certifications (P.Eng, I.S.P/ITCP, CCNA, CCNP, MCSE, FCP, Network+, Security+, etc) as specified in the posting.
  3. Extensive technical knowledge of and experience with ICT products, services, processes, procedures and their underlying technologies (network services, data centre and cloud services, etc).
  4. Extensive knowledge of competitive business technology industry trends, ICT issues and technologies and ability to apply it to develop business solutions or to influence the deployment of such technologies.
  5. Experience in developing and/or maintaining business relationships with solution partners, vendors, partners and consultants.  Demonstrated expertise in managing contracts, negotiating license agreements and service level agreements.
  6. Demonstrated analytical, business and technical leadership in delivering ICT Products and Services.
  7. Demonstrated ability to supervise, lead, coach, inspire and motivate multiple direct reports.
  8. Ability to lead cross functional teams in the integration of activities across the organization.
  9. Possesses a high energy level and willingness to work irregular hours in an unpredictable, demanding work environment.
  10. Ability to integrate marketing, technical, engineering and operational considerations while managing projects of high strategic impact and working across divisional boundaries.
  11. Demonstrated ability to manage change within a diverse and rapidly changing environment.
  12. Demonstrated experience in creative thinking and innovation, influencing and relationship building.
  13. Demonstrated ability to interpret and effectively communicate technological concepts directly to clients at various organizational levels using both written and verbal methods
