As an Account Representative – ICT Incented Sales Rep, you’ll be at the forefront of assessing and fulfilling the information and communication technology (ICT) service needs of SaskTel customers. Your role is an exciting blend of prospecting new opportunities—through personal research, networking at industry events, and collaborating with internal and external partners—and crafting bespoke solutions that leverage SaskTel’s cutting-edge products and services. A defining feature of this role is the stewardship of business accounts that are primarily Indigenous-based, reflecting the vibrant communities and organizations throughout the northern region. You’ll maintain sales coverage and ensure continuity across a vast area in the northeast of the province, with a strong emphasis on building and sustaining impactful partnerships with Indigenous organizations. Your efforts will be central to fostering meaningful collaboration and cultivating relationships that contribute to the success of SaskTel ! 

 

JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for the assessment and fulfillment of information and communication technology needs of SaskTel customers. This includes the identification of potential opportunities from individual research and prospecting, attendance at company/industry events or referrals from other SaskTel account primes. Partner closely with other internal sales roles and ICT Account Executives, internal partner organizations including marketing, finance and operations personnel, for proposals and delivery and also external/third party resources. Establishes and meets personal, strategic and/or customer based revenue results with ICT products. Develops and closes opportunities while providing solutions that leverage SaskTel’s ICT products and services.

 

TYPICAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

(Not all inclusive or applicable to all assignments)
1.  Accountable for maintaining and growing SaskTel ICT revenues, customer base and market share.
2. Seek out, qualify and act on market/customer ICT opportunities. Actively work to understand customer business requirements, motivators and close sales.
3. Analyze customer needs and deliver ICT solutions that solve identified business problems and quantify the expected return on investment.
4. Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with key decision makers, owners, department heads or communication contacts to ensure acceptance of solution, successful sales negotiations and long term customer relations.
5. Responsible for generating market awareness of SaskTel’s ICT product capabilities through such activities as customer events, customer information sessions, etc.
6. Recommend solutions, present proposals and deliver sales presentations.
7.  Work with customer post sale to validate the value of SaskTel solutions.
8. Lead and/or team with Business Sales account teams and assign work to pro-actively protect network revenues, maintain working relationships and ensure strategic and/or individual sales targets are met.
9. Develop and evolve customer account plans, ensuring they are in synch with sales and industry plans. Assist in the preparation, evolution and delivery of Business Sales plans and objectives.
10. Obtain customer commitment; negotiate conditions of sale and present documentation for authorization.
11. Ensure coordination of implementation is successful and follow up to ensure overall customer satisfaction.
12. Proactively research emerging technologies and competitive threats.

 

QUALIFICATIONS
1. Degree in Administration/Commerce/ /Computer Science/ Engineering with a thorough knowledge of Sales techniques typically gained with 2 years of experience in a sales/marketing/technical role OR Diploma in Administration/ Electrical Engineering/ Electronics Engineering/Computer Science Diploma in Information Systems /Computer Technology with a thorough knowledge of Sales techniques typically gained with 3 years of experience in a sales/marketing/technical role OR University Certificate in Business Administration with a thorough knowledge of Sales techniques typically gained with 5 years of experience in a sales/marketing/technical role OR Level 30 English with a thorough knowledge of Sales techniques typically gained with 6 years of experience in a sales/marketing/technical role.
2. Thorough knowledge of one or more of the following:
a) IP Networks
b) Convergence & Hosted Applications
c) Data centre sales, applications, integration
d) IP and Cloud based services

3. Thorough knowledge of business fundamentals e.g. Finance, Marketing, Planning, Purchasing and Communications.
4. Working knowledge of telecommunications industry e.g. regulation, emerging technologies and competition.
5. Thorough knowledge of voice, data, information technologies and associated trends/issues with the ability to apply and develop business solutions.
6. Demonstrated ability to interpret and effectively communicate technological concepts to clients at various organizational levels using both written and verbal methods.
7. Successfully demonstrates sales ability in face to face sales environment.
8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to influence and persuade others.
9. Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver sales presentations.
10. Demonstrated ability to uncover customer business needs and business drivers
11. Excellent ability to manage multiple tasks and to plan and organize in a self directed environment.
12. Excellent analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
13. Valid Driver’s License.
