GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY
Accountable for architectural and design leadership in Information Technology (IT) focusing on driving the development of detailed IT architecture and designs in support of corporate, external customer and partner projects.  Responsible for consulting with internal and external clients to provide expertise in delivery of IT solutions.   Accountable for development of quality, timely and viable IT solutions to meet SaskTel’s strategic goals.

 

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Accountable for development of detailed IT plans and architectures to support corporate, external customer and partnership opportunities. Works in conjunction with IT primes from across server, storage, database, network and application groups to deliver designs that consider risk, financial impact, skillsets and timeliness for delivery of a quality solution.
2. Reviews project architectures with supporting subject matter expert groups for compliance with standards and policies.
3. Provides consulting for IS strategic plan and Holdco Technology Strategy deliverable development.  Create detailed implementation plans for execution of IS strategies.
4. Accountable for maintaining both personal and team technical expertise associated with this position and for introduction and dispersion of this knowledge within SaskTel.  This includes providing technical assistance with seminars, workshops, on-site training, formal training, and direct consultation.
5. Evaluates the impact of changing business drivers on IT solutions and advises enabling and client areas on focus areas for new requirements or changes.
6. Maintains a comprehensive depth and breadth of knowledge for relevant current and future technologies and best practices for incorporation into SaskTel’s IT Infrastructure as applicable.

 

QUALIFICATIONS
1. University degree in Information Technology, Electronics/Electrical Engineering or a related discipline; or, a Technical Institute diploma in Information Technology and extensive experience in a related position.
2. Extensive knowledge of IT best practices and enabling technologie with extensive experience in the application of information technology principles and techniques, IT architecture and planning methodologies.
3. Demonstrated ability to provide strong analytical, business and technical leadership.
4. Demonstrated ability and significant experience in developing business and technical recommendations.
5. Strong team leader and member, able to work effectively in chairing or serving on multi-disciplinary committees while influencing the performance of others.
6. Knowledge of the Telco industry, SaskTel departments/subsidiaries organization structures, operations and relationships.
7. Ability to plan and coordinate/monitor the implementation of high profile projects.
8. Professional certification as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.), Information Systems Professional (ISP) or equivalent designation is desirable.

  • Accountable for proactively identifying, inspiring, and acting on opportunities to innovate and drive process improvements, develop growth initiatives, and improve revenue and/or reduce costs. Driving valuable customer experiences and employee engagement, improving sustainability, and demonstrates commitment to the communities that we serve. 

 

This is an on-site position located at the location(s) above. The successful candidate must be located within the province of Saskatchewan. Out of province/country candidates must be willing to relocate. Flexible work opportunities, in province, may be available.
