Reporting to the CFO, you’ll harness data, economic trends, and financial analysis to uncover opportunities that fuel growth and operational excellence. From guiding executive decisions with evidence-based recommendations to championing cross-functional collaboration, your work will influence everything from new products and services to corporate initiatives. SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Accountable for research and analysis on the telecommunications industry, competitive landscape, regulatory environment, legislative changes, external and internal environment scanning, new business models and organizational frameworks.
2. Accountable for the facilitation, coordination, and leadership of cross-functional teams that identifies and resolves organizational challenges, problems and concerns as well as capitalizes on strategic opportunities.
3. Proactively monitors internal and external environments to identify emerging business opportunities, use cases, and potential risks relevant to SaskTel's growth and performance.
4. Champions innovation and the adoption of best practices in decision support, leveraging models, and framework from the telecom sector and beyond to enhance SaskTel s business processes.
5. Works closely with leaders, business units, subject matter experts and SaskTel s executive to lead the analysis of qualitative and quantitative data to assess the viability, impact, and alignment of opportunities with SaskTel's strategic objectives.
6. Conducts economic and financial analysis of the Corporation that is data driven and evidence-based resulting in business recommendations to the Executive.
7. Collaborate with the business to create business cases based on sound financial assumptions, that manage or mitigate Corporate risks and provide recommendations that balance strategic priorities with long term financial sustainability.
8. Represents the Decision Support function in Executive and cross departmental meetings, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy and stakeholders needs. Including preparing and presenting comprehensive reports, dashboards, opportunities, and recommendations to senior leadership.
9. Assists business units through solution execution, providing ongoing guidance, monitoring progress, and ensuring intended outcomes are achieved.
10. Responsible for Product Margin Reporting (PMR) including the review and analysis of product and service profitability through special studies with the objective of identifying and recommending operational improvements to the Executive.
11. This position works closely with the Director Finance (Strategic Planning and Business Development) on high profile projects that may be urgent or complex in nature and likely to have a significant impact on SaskTel s strategic outlook.
12. Accountable to minimize and mitigate exposure and impact to business-critical processes through the effective implementation of Business Continuity Plans and in accordance with responsibilities outlined in the Corporate BCM Policy, the Emergency Operations Procedures and the Emergency Alert Procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS
1. Professional Accounting Designation (CPA) / Bachelor of Administration or Commerce, Economics Data Science degree or related field.
2. Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in decision support, business analysis, or strategic roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
3. Demonstrated expertise in the telecommunication industry and other industries that support techco functions and cross-industry business models is required.
4. Excellent interpersonal skills, with proven track record of influencing executive decision-making through rigorous analysis and compelling evidence/data based recommendations and ability to interact effectively with senior management, SaskTel s Board of Directors and CIC.
5. Excellent analytical, research, planning and project management skills and proficiency data analytic tools and techniques, financial modelling and business case development.
6. Solid comprehension of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), economic theory and CRTC directives.
7. Ability to build, manage and foster client relationships across the organization and external parties.
8. Strong knowledge of the telecommunications industry and SaskTel which includes service offerings, operational processes, and the interrelationships
of departmental functions.
9. Ability to integrate marketing, technical and operational considerations while leading strategic initiatives and working across divisional boundaries.
10. Ability to select and prepare appropriate information to be shared with internal and external bodies.
11. Ability to manage constantly changing priorities, multiple initiatives and meet rigorous deadlines.
12. Aptitude for innovative approach to business opportunities.

  • Accountable for proactively identifying, inspiring, and acting on opportunities to innovate and drive process improvements, develop growth initiatives, and improve revenue and/or reduce costs. Driving valuable customer experiences and employee engagement, improving sustainability, and demonstrates commitment to the communities that we serve. 

 

This is an on-site position located at the location(s) above. The successful candidate must be located within the province of Saskatchewan. Out of province/country candidates must be willing to relocate. Flexible work opportunities, in province, may be available.
