JOB SUMMARY
Develops, designs, codes and tests web-based solutions for internal/external clients, SaskTel’s online customers and the corporation.  Provides support for web sites and applications. Provides leadership on web applications, web sites, user interfaces and the customer experience. Researches and utilizes industry standards involving information architecture, creative web design, usability and testing to apply to web development.

 

TYPICAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
(Not all inclusive or applicable to all assignments)
1.    Develops web sites and application user interfaces using latest web technologies and programming languages for various internet devices.
2.    Develops new online services for SaskTel’s customers.
3.    Applies corporate branding guiding principles consistently to new applications and sites.
4.    Collaborates with business and technical teams to design and develop the best online solutions for web applications.
5.    Participates on projects in a leadership role that require development of web sites and applications for web enabled devices using Standard Project Processes.
6.    Supports web sites and applications by following standard procedures and processes.
7.    Responds to escalated online customer trouble tickets.
8.    Maintains work-group non-standard hardware and software, server and test environments.
9.    Researches, maintains knowledge and utilizes emerging and evolving technologies and trends in a rapidly changing environment.


QUALIFICATIONS
1.Degree in Computer Science plus thorough knowledge of web technologies and principles, typically gained with 2 years experience in a web development and support role OR 2 year Diploma in Interactive Design and Technology, Graphic Design or Computer Science plus thorough knowledge of web technologies and principles, typically gained with 4 years experience in a web development and support role OR 1 year Certificate in New Media Communications plus thorough knowledge of web technologies and principles, typically gained with 5 years experience in a web development and support role.
2.Thorough knowledge of current web development principles, technologies, programming languages and tools.
3.Working knowledge of web site and application infrastructure including navigation, information architecture, server environments, content management and version control.
4.Working knowledge of and the ability to apply online brand management.
5.Working knowledge of support standards and requirements.
6.Good organization and planning skills.
7.Good research, analysis, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
8.Good communication skills and the ability to deal effectively with others.
9.General knowledge of personal computers and various software applications.
10.General knowledge of project management principles.
11.Keyboarding skills 20 wpm.
