SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Provide system design, implementation and technical assistance support to all SaskTel user groups impacting the performance of the digital switching and cellular networks.  Responsibilities include supporting interface problems that arise in analog and digital switches, sub-systems or related network equipment.
2. Co-ordinate and assist with the insertion of digital switch software upgrades.  Recommend appropriate software and data requirements to ensure proper functionality and performance of the switching network.
3. Interface with equipment suppliers on technical problem referrals and issues impacting the performance of the digital switching network.
4. Provide recommendations and assistance by introducing and implementing new technologies and services. Assist user groups involved with the modernization of SaskTel's switching network.
5. Represent SaskTel on national committees and by attending conferences in order to enhance and refine the performance of the digital switching network.
6. Participates on assigned SaskTel International ventures.
7. Co-ordinate the implementation of new technologies and services as required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS
1. Education and experience (one of the following combinations):
   a. University Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Software or Systems Engineering and registered with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan. OR
   b. University degree in Computer Science with at least two years of relevant voice network communications systems experience.  OR
   c. Technical Diploma in Data Processing / Programming or Computer Technology or Electronic Engineering Technology with at least three years of relevant voice network communications systems experience.
2. Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with SaskTel systems used to provide voice services.    Examples include but are not limited to C20, CS2K, DMS and IMS
3. Experience with computer and Linux based systems, telecommunications networks, and IP networks is preferred.
4. Ability to understand and implement new and emerging technologies
5. Must possess creative and analytical skills.
6. Excellent written and oral communications and interpersonal skills.
7. Valid driver's license.
