Business Solutions Manager-Enterprise AI

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY
Accountable for the strategic development, implementation, and governance of artificial intelligence (AI) solutions across the organization. This includes leading AI initiatives that align with corporate data policies, ethical standards, and strategic goals.
Responsible for the integration of AI technologies into enterprise systems, ensuring scalability, security, and business value. Leads a specialized technical team to support the corporate AI strategy, including data science, machine learning, and intelligent automation. Collaborates with IS Business Transformation and business units to evolve AI capabilities and ensure alignment with the corporate strategic plan. Prepares annual work plans and budgets for AI initiatives and ensures effective utilization of resources.

 

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Leads the design, development, and deployment of AI solutions including machine learning, natural language processing, and intelligent automation. Ensures AI systems are integrated with enterprise architecture and aligned with business goals. Collaborates with IS Business Transformation and business units to identify and prioritize AI use cases. Oversees AI model lifecycle management, including training, validation, deployment, and monitoring. Ensures AI solutions meet
service level, security, and disaster recovery requirements. Manages AI-related procurement processes including RFPs, EOIs, and vendor negotiations.
2. Promotes cross-functional collaboration and knowledge sharing in AI development. Provides leadership and coaching to AI staff, fostering a high-performance culture. Supports staff development through training plans, mentoring, and performance management. Communicates corporate direction and ensures alignment of team objectives with strategic goals. Builds strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners. Mentors technical staff and supports professional development
in AI and data science.
3. Leads the development of a centralized AI governance framework. Identifies and implements AI-driven process improvements and business transformation initiatives. Collaborates with cross-departmental teams to integrate AI into business operations. Ensures reusability of AI infrastructure and promotes scalable solutions. Advises senior management on AI opportunities and risks. Develops and tracks metrics to measure the impact and value of AI initiatives.
4. Collaborates with the AI Council to ensure AI initiatives adhere to SaskTel’s standards for security, privacy, ethical use, and data accuracy. Implements risk mitigation strategies throughout the AI lifecycle, including model development, deployment, and monitoring. Ensures compliance with relevant legal, regulatory, and corporate policies. Promotes transparency and accountability in AI decision-making processes and supports the development of ethical guidelines and audit mechanisms for AI systems.
5. Manages and optimizes the financial sustainability of AI operations, including monitoring ongoing costs, evaluating ROI of AI initiatives, and adjusting strategies to ensure long-term cost-effectiveness.

 

QUALIFICATIONS
1. University Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field and a minimum of seven years of experience in information technology management, or other equivalent education and experience.
2. Minimum of five years of experience in AI/ML solution management or equivalent.
3. Proven experience in leading AI projects and managing technical teams.
4. Strong understanding of AI technologies, data science methodologies, and cloud platforms.
5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
6. Extensive experience in project management of computer-based systems.
7. Demonstrated ability to provide strong analytical, business and technical leadership.
8. Overall knowledge and experience of the operations of a production Information Systems environment.
9. Demonstrated experience as part of a diverse team working in a complex, dynamic and growing environment.
10.Comprehensive knowledge and experience in research and investigation related to the development and design of computerized systems.
11.Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.
