GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY
As part of the Marketing Operations team within SaskTel, this position is accountable for:
* product management, pricing and business performance management for SaskTel's major lines of business;
* product life cycle management which includes all aspects of service development and evolution of the product; and
* leading and managing corporate activities through the development of clearly understood portfolio plans.  Ensures all activities exemplify the corporate image and brand of SaskTel.

 

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Product portfolio which includes revenue, subscribers, market share and churn targets.  This accountability is shared with the Market Manager – Take to Market.
2. Portfolio plan development and business performance of products including profitability, expense management, and inventory management. Provides inputs into the forecasting process and ongoing forecasting updates.
3. Long term health and regeneration of product portfolios through new product/service development and product enhancements.
4. Identifies emerging areas of focus and high quality ideas in consultation with product marketing, technology, operations and senior management.  Leads cross-functional multi-disciplined teams in the research, evaluation, system design, requirement definition and process development for service delivery.
5. Ensures the application of the stage gate best practices and focus process for the development and introduction of new products and services.  Accountable for completion of the business case including the annual post launch review.
6. Negotiates, establishes and maximizes third party relationships that deliver advantageous results and protect SaskTel's best interests.
7. Ensures that SaskTel products and pricing are positioned competitively through proactive monitoring and research of the marketplace and competitors.  Spearheads timely tactics to counter competitive threats.
8. Defines the ideal customer experience that drives highest customer satisfaction.  Promptly and accurately addresses product, and price related enquiries and proactively educates channels.
9. Develops relationships and provides marketing leadership to enabling and operational groups to deliver successful portfolio performance. Ensures channels to market are supported and effectively maintained by providing sales aids, value propositions, product information and sales training for all marketing-related initiatives.
10. Drives marketing activity to ensure alignment with marketing plans, and gains the understanding and commitment of stakeholders.
11. Manages operating and expense budgets effectively to maximize profitability and minimize impacts on corporate costs.
12. Ensures products adhere to applicable policies, practices, regulations, and privacy requirements.
13. Creates a highly effective team fluent in current industry trends, technology changes and market conditions.
14. Provides leadership, direction and coaching to inspire, motivate and enable a positive and productive work environment for direct reports and
cross-functional teams.

 

QUALIFICATIONS
1. Degree in Business Administration/Commerce or equivalent.  A combination of related business experience and education will be considered.
2. A minimum of 2 years of demonstrated leadership in marketing and product management.
3. Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to apply marketing concepts and principles.
4. Must display strong planning and analytical skills, customer focus, results orientation.
5. Demonstrated ability to supervise, lead, coach, inspire and motivate multiple direct reports.
6. Ability to lead cross functional teams in the integration of activities across the organization.
7. Possesses a high energy level and willingness to work irregular hours in an unpredictable, demanding work environment.
