Sales Manager-Engagement Management

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY
Accountable to provide leadership, direction, and project management expertise in managing complex sales engagements. Manages the end-to-end engagement management process to submit high quality, competitive, financially sound, timely proposals and statements of work to our customers by interfacing effectively with SaskTel clients as well as internal SaskTel sales teams and stakeholders. Accountable for developing and implementing win strategies, facilitating key meetings, and driving continuous improvement of Engagement Management processes. Identifies opportunities for alternative win strategies including leveraging strategic partnerships. Contributes to organizational initiatives and special projects as assigned. Prioritizes engagement opportunities to ensure optimal staff assignment. Responsible to manage bid writing staff.

 

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Accountable for leading the end-to-end engagement management process including project managing development of customer-facing documents such  as proposals, RFx responses, and statements of work.
2. Accountable for assisting in generating new revenue and maintaining revenue base in an increasingly competitive environment through the development and implementation of win strategies, facilitating key meetings, and driving continuous improvement of Engagement Management processes.
3. Uses project management skills to effectively manage and co-ordinate resources and activities required for successful engagement responses and implementation including determining project outlines, timelines, and designating responsibilities/assigning action items to cross-functional team members and subject matter experts (both internal and external).
4. Leads opportunity qualification activity. Identifies, defines and gains corporate agreement on pre- qualification criteria.
5. Develops the engagement approach/strategy/delivery/partnership model.
6. Works with the SaskTel legal department and appropriate account teams to develop, negotiate and implement client contracts.
7. Works with and advises bid response team on creating sound bid response strategies.
8. Maintains high levels of knowledge and expertise regarding SaskTel customers, industries, outsourcing, managed services and information technology as well as SaskTel internal processes and procedures.
9. Accountable for the development of bid management operating plans and operational metrics.
10.Maximizes engagement management performance. Organizes and directs bid writer work.
11.Develops professional business relationships, maintains a presence in the community, and brings stability and credibility to the bid process.
12.Contributes to other organizational initiatives as required, such as IP&A activities, special projects/programs, Board of Directors material creation, SaaS implementation management (Qvidian), etc.

 

QUALIFICATIONS
1. Degree in in a related discipline (Business Administration/Commerce, Engineering, English, Journalism, Communication) or an equivalent combination of education and experienced in a related field.
2. 3 years of experience in project management leadership or equivalent. Demonstrated success in managing multiple projects with constraints of budget, timelines, and resources.
3. Successful completion of project management certification (CAPM, PMP)  or proposal management (APMP) certification is preferred.
4. Excellent knowledge of SaskTel business products and services.
5. Knowledge of competitive industry and technologies.
6. Must practice and display a high level of commitment to the support and development of employees.
7. Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to influence and negotiate with all levels of the company to achieve results.
8. Excellent written and oral communication skills to convey information clearly, concisely and logically.
9. Ability to affect change from a position of earned credibility without positional authority.
10.Demonstrated knowledge of project management standards, methodologies and related practices. E.g. Project Management Institute’s (PMI) PMBOK, PRINCE2, and Prosci Change Management.

This is an on-site position located at the location(s) above. The successful candidate must be located within the province of Saskatchewan. Out of province/country candidates must be willing to relocate. Flexible work opportunities, in province, may be available.
