GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY
Accountability is to provide leadership, direction and project management expertise to enable the effective implementation of multiple projects or one larger project and is accountable for taking the project from initiation through final implementation. Lead multifunctional and cross divisional project teams on people, process, and technology projects of medium to high risk and complexity.

 

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Accountable for all aspects of the project (or phase) over the entire project life.  Accountable for procurement, managing vendor relations, distributors and managing end user expectations.  Responsible for communicating status to project sponsors.  Is responsible for financial reporting.
2. Supports an effective, proactive cross-functional project team that may consist of both management & non-management individuals in an environment that encourages innovation, teamwork, initiative & open communication; promotes and models the corporate values. Recognizes both personal and team success.
3. Maintains a high level of competency in project management related disciplines.
4. Accountable to provide project management leadership to the corporate project management community thorough coaching, guiding, mentoring, facilitating and educating via multiple channels in various formats.
5. Effectively communicates to all levels of stakeholders of projects using an appropriate method of communication in a timely manner. Ensures a common understanding by setting expectations in accordance with the project plan, in order to align the stakeholders and team members.

 

QUALIFICATIONS
(Formal Education, knowledge, experience, essential management skills and abilities)
1. 5 years experience in project management leadership or equivalent. Demonstrated success in delivering large and complex projects with constraints of budget, timelines and resources.
2. 3 years project procurement and vendor management experience. Typically 1 year managing third party partners (e.g. consultants, system integrators)
3. PMI Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) required.
4. Education and training normally gained through post secondary education at the University or Technical Institute level in one of following: Computer Science/Business Administration/ Engineering.
5. Extensive knowledge of project management standards, methodologies and related practices. E.g Project Management Institute's (PMI) PMBOK, PRINCE2 and Prosci Change Management.
6. Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to influence and negotiate with all levels of the company to achieve results.
7. Excellent written and oral communication skills to convey information clearly, concisely and logically.
8. Consistently demonstrates PM leadership in the areas of PM process improvement, coaching & mentoring, and improved educational & technical competency.
9. Must demonstrate a high level of commitment to the effective implementation of Partnership for Excellence process along with the ability to lead, inspire and motivate individuals within the team.
