As a Technical Solutions Manager–Security within our Business Sales and Solutions Division, you’ll be a driving force behind SaskTel’s physical security revenue attainment. This dynamic role blends technical leadership with hands-on consulting, ensuring the planning, design, architecture, and implementation of cutting-edge security services and equipment are executed to the highest standards. You’ll guide technicians and subcontractors both in the field and through project lifecycles, from installation and inspections to strategic management. Staying ahead of emerging technologies and industry trends, you’ll position SaskTel as a trusted advisor, championing business process improvement and seamless transitions for customers while leveraging deep alliances and partnerships. With responsibilities spanning business analysis, design documentation, project management, and mentoring, your expertise will guarantee on-time, on-scope, and on-budget delivery, making a tangible impact on our business customers’ security and SaskTel’s continued growth. GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY
Accountable for providing technical leadership and consulting services for all aspects of the planning, design, architecture, implementation, support, evolution, performance, operational tools, and capacity related to security services. Leads technical staff with development and implementation of security equipment and services.  Provides consultative expertise to technicians and subcontractors in the field, as required.

 

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Accountable for the planning, architecture, high level design, implementation, support and evolution of SaskTel security products and services.
2. Develops and maintains expertise on emerging technologies and provides leadership within SaskTel and customer organizations on the impacts of and regarding management of transition to these technologies.
3. Acquires and applies knowledge of trends and of the competitive environments in the security and customer industries to position SaskTel within customer business plans.
4. Provides a technical leadership role and builds a foundation of support within SaskTel and its alliance partners and leverages the associated relationships in the best interest of SaskTel and SaskTel customers.
5. Provides consulting, coaching and/or mentoring to direct reports, technicians, subcontractors, and others in regard to customer technical requirements, plans and solutions with respect to the associated technologies.
6. Performs business/system analysis and consulting regarding complex solutions to help customers improve their business processes and/or adapt to change.
7. Develops statements of work and manages customer projects and/or assists clients in developing business cases through the appropriate life cycle of security products and services.
8. Develops and documents requirements, designs, specifications, project schedules, cost estimates, test plans and performance requirements.
9. Maintains knowledge of current and emerging methodologies, standards, guidelines and tools associated with fulfillment of the above accountabilities and recommends/influences use of these within SaskTel.
10.Assists in the management of projects to ensure they are delivered on-time, on-scope, and within budget, to help maximize profitability for SaskTel.

 

QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor’s Degree OR Technical Diploma/Certificate and 3 years of relevant experience OR 6 years of equivalent experience in a related field.    
2. Current standing of advanced vendor certification(s) as specified in the posting.
3. Experience in developing customer proposals and contracts.
4. Experience in developing and/or maintaining business relationships with solution partners.  Demonstrated expertise in managing contracts, negotiating license agreements and service level agreements.
5. Extensive experience in the design, implementation and support of security industry products including hardware and software (i.e. security alarm systems, NVRs, CCTV, access control, etc.).
6. Demonstrated analytical, business and technical leadership in delivering Security Products and Services.
7. Management skills to plan, coordinate and lead the resources needed to effectively support major projects.
8. Must be willing to travel on short notice to conduct audits, inspections, training and project management for delivery of security solutions.
9. Demonstrated experience in managing teams to deliver projects with an understanding of project management.
10.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and the ability to influence and deal effectively with others.

  • Accountable for proactively identifying, inspiring, and acting on opportunities to innovate and drive process improvements, develop growth initiatives, and improve revenue and/or reduce costs. Driving valuable customer experiences and employee engagement, improving sustainability, and demonstrates commitment to the communities that we serve.
